Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamiil Nadu and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over coastal and north interior Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Namakkal 6, Kovilpatti (Tuticorin dt.), Sirkali (Nagapattinam dt.) and Mettupalayam (Coimbatore dt.) 5 each, Paramathi Velur (Namakkal dt.), Vembavur (Perambalur dt.), Vadipatti (Madurai dt.) and CIAL Kochi 4 each.

Forecast (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and north Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Chennai city and neighbourhood (valid until Tuesday morning): Partly cloudy. Possibility of shower or thundershower in some areas.
