HASSAN: District Principal and Sessions Judge Aadappanavar has said that the police should be extra cautious as the anti-social elements had started adopting modern technology. Mr. Aadappanavar was presiding over a function organised by the district police in Parade Grounds on Saturday to mark the Police Commemoration Day. He said that the functioning of police was totally different from other departments as it had a responsibility to maintain law and order. The situation in various parts of the country became "sensitive" with the anti-social elements adopting modern technology to commit crime. The responsibility of the police had increased now, he said. Deputy Commissioner K.H. Ashwathanarayana Gowda said the police were working under stress.
Society's duty
It was the duty of society to acknowledge their sacrifice by paying tributes to those who laid down their lives. C.G. Patil, Chief of Master Control Facility (MCF), said the Army and the police served society by protecting the country from external and internal enemies. Superintendent of Police, Panduranga H. Rane spoke. Additional Superintendent of Police, Thammiah read out the names of 751 policemen who were killed while on duty.
