SHRC takes note of report on school transport

CHENNAI: Taking suo motu cognisance of a report in `Thina Thanthi' about how schoolchildren commute dangerously to the mainland by boat, a Bench of the SHRC, headed by Chairperson Justice A.S. Venkatachalamoorthy asked the Tiruvallur Collector to send a report to the Commission within three weeks. The report said the people of Lighthouse and Thangalperumpulam panchayats had to travel by boats to reach Pazhaverkadu.
