Canara Bank's gesture to streetchildren

GUNTUR: The Canara Bank Guntur branch on Sunday distributed sets of school uniforms to all streetchildren residing at Sri Bala Bharathi shelter in the Municipal New Complex in Arundelpet in Guntur.

The Guntur Municipal Corporation has constructed a shelter for the streetchildren and Sri Bala Bharati, a charitable organisation, runs home for this deprived lot. Canara Bank Chief Manager D. Satyanarayana said as part of its social responsibility, the bank had donated uniforms to the children on the occasion of Diwali.

Congratulating the NGO for providing shelter to these children and showing them a way to lead normal life in society, he said that the bank would support the organisation in possible ways.

Bala Bharati president Yerram Sambireddy was also present on the occasion.
