Chithira Aattatirunal celebrated

Sabarimala temple closes after monthly pujas


  • Laksharchana, Sahasrakalasom, Kalabhabhishekom performed
  • Temple will be opened on November 16 for the 41-day Mandala puja

    PATHANAMTHITTA: The annual Chithira Aattatirunal was celebrated at the Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala with traditional fervour on Sunday.

    The temple witnessed heavy rush of pilgrims on the last day of the five-day monthly puja on Sunday. Laksharchana, Sahasrakalasabhishekom and Kalabhabhishekom were performed at the temple in the forenoon.

    Pushpabhishekom and Padi puja were held in the evening. The temple was closed later. It will be opened on November 16 for the 41-day Mandala puja. The installation ceremony of new Sabarimala Melsanthi E. Eeswaran Nambootiri and Malikappuram Melsanthi S. Madhusoodanan Potti will be held on November 16 evening.
