JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will shortly look for a suitable piece of land on the outskirts of the Capital city for establishing a "medi-city'' proposed by the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, presiding over the 22nd meeting of the Board of Infrastructure Development and Investment Promotion (BIDI) here over the week-end, gave instructions to the JDA to identify the land and also look into the possibility of setting up a sports city. Ms. Raje said the establishment of a sports city in Jaipur, besides promoting sports activities and talents in the State, would provide a choice for venue of some of the events in the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be hosted by India. Other proposals which were approved in the meeting included the construction of a heart hospital, a neuro-science and trauma centre and a mother and child care centre. An official release stated that a hotel attached to the trauma centre would also be constructed to promote medical tourism. The BIDI agreed to allot 25 acres of land to a private firm for developing an Information Technology Special Economic Zone to encourage IT activities.
