HYDERABAD: A dispute over finalising bridegroom for their daughter led to the murder of a woman at Kundanbagh in the city on Sunday. The police said 40-year-old Meharunnisa was allegedly killed by her husband Fakruddin. The couple have been quarrelling for the last one week over finalising bridegroom to their daughter. On Saturday night too, Fakruddin picked up an argument with his wife over the same issue. Arguments continued till their son Asif, who works in a hotel, returned home around midnight. Asif made a vain bid to pacify his parents, but went to sleep after they failed to heed his pleas. When Asif tried to wake up his mother for Sahr prayers, she was found dead with severe head injuries while Fakruddin was absconding from the house, police said. Fakruddin, a security guard, could have murdered Meharunnisa by smashing her head with a sharp edged weapon. A murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Fakruddin. A hunt has been launched to nab him.
