HYDERABAD: A police constable who worked as an escort driver to Home Minister K. Jana Reddy hanged himself to death at his house at Kismatpura in Rajendranagar on Sunday morning. B. Govind Naik, 37, was a native of Banswada in Nizamabad district. A suicide note purportedly written by Govind was recovered from him in which he stated that he was committing suicide due to financial problems, the police said. Govind was attached to the State Police Transport Organisation. He had been on sick leave for the last two days. The incident came to light when Govind did not respond to the repeated calls of his house owner. On suspicion, the owner peeped through the window only to find the constable hanging. "I have incurred heavy debts for constructing a new house in Kismatpura. Even mason Prakash has begun pressuring me for payment of money. Unable to cope with the situation, I have decided to end my life," the police quoting Govind's letter said. Govind `requested' members of his family to settle the payment.
