One dies after falling into well

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Ajeesh, 24, a carpenter and a resident of Mannathimoola in Chirayinkeezhu, died on Sunday after he slipped and fell into an unused well near his house after he ran for cover allegedly fearing a police party.

Ajeesh along with three of his friends were standing in front of his house around 9 p.m. when a police jeep came by.

Fearing that the police were after them, they ran to safety, which resulted in Ajeesh falling into the well. Though he was taken to the Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital, his life could not be saved.

Injured in blast

Imamudeen, 26, a resident of Valiathura, was admitted to the Medical College Hospital on Sunday evening after his left palm got shattered in a blast triggered by a country bomb, the hospital authorities said. He is suspected to be an activist of the NDF.
