Fountain lights creating confusion The roads from Karamana, Thampanoor, Chalai and bypass road meet at Killippalam junction. Recently, Killippalam traffic island was modified with water cascades and garden fountain lights with the sponsorship of a private hospital authority. Most of the fountain lights were fitted in the same height of the traffic signal lights, which is totally against the traffic rules. During night, this causes confusion for vehicle users. So, for public convenience, the traffic authorities may take action to either make a change in the position of the fountain lights or lower their height. C.M. Kumar, Karamana. Faulty meters Many residents' associations in Thiruvananthapuram East have complained of faulty meters many a times. More than 10,000 electronic meters installed on their premises were found faulty for a long time now. The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has not done anything worth even after repeated complaints. The KSEB is bound to replace the faulty meters with good ones as and when it goes faulty. The consumption would be calculated as an average of three cons ecutive readings of the meter in working conditions and not on faulty conditions. The rent is also charged for the faulty meters. Nobody knows how long this would continue when a meter costs only Rs.300 in the open market. S.Azhagappan, Neeramankara. Readers may sent their letters to The Hindu , Airport Road, P.O.
