Platinum jubilee fete of Telugu cinema to be held in Hyderabad

The celebration will be an occasion to recollect, analyse and review the progress made by Telugu cinema's talkie era over the years

HYDERABAD: A two-day celebration to mark the platinum jubilee year of Telugu cinema, tracing its journey in the last 75 years, will be organised at Sri Tyagaraya Gana Sabha here on October 28 and 29.

Organised by the Film Analytical and Appreciation Society (FAAS), a wing of the city-based Integrated Telugu Cultural and Literary Association, it will be an occasion to recollect, analyse and review the progress and changes made by Telugu cinema's talkie era until today, said FAAS secretary K.Dharma Rao here on Monday.

Highlights

A talk on `75 years of Telugu cinema and its changing phases' by S.V.Ramarao, felicitations to actors, directors, producers who made a mark in the field with excellence awards will be the highlights of the programme. The excellence awards were named after late actors, directors and producers who immortalised their contribution to the filed of cinema by their exceptional talent, he said.

Festival chairman and `Rasamayi' president M.K.Ramu said comprehensive data about every aspect of Telugu cinema - films, actors, banners, producers and directors - will be displayed at the venue as part of the celebrations.
