Stephen, Radhika win titles

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Jais Stephen (KSEB) and Radhika Suresh (IOC) won the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the K.R. Pillai memorial all-Kerala table tennis tournament at the YMCA hall here on Sunday.

Jais Stephen defeated P. Adarsh (Captstocks) 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 11-3 in the final. In the women's final, Olympian Radhika Suresh overcame Aparna D. Nair 11-8, 12-10, 11-6, 6-11, 5-11, 21-19.

The results: Men (final): Jais Stephen (KSEB) bt P. Adarsh (Capstock) 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 11-3. Semifinals: Adarsh bt S. Sreeraj (KNM) 11-8, 11-6, 11-7, 1-11, 11-5; Stephen bt R. Rajesh (SBI) 14-12, 11-9, 11-4, 11-2.

Boys: Youth (final): Anjelo Porathur (Tsr) bt Shyam Narayan (AYTTA) 11-5, 11-9, 11-13, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5. Semifinals: Anjelo bt Vishnu Narayan (AYTTA) 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-8, 11-5; Shyam (AYTTA) bt Rahul Binu Mathew (Aytta) 11-5, 11-7, 13-11, 9-11, 7-11.
