Sensex loses 114 points
MUMBAI:
The festive mood on Bombay Stock Exchange seems to have come to a halt with the BSE key index, Sensex, suffering a loss of 114 points amid lacklustre trading. Investors seemed to be in festive mood and were engaged only in squaring up positions for a smooth rollover in the derivatives new contract.
In volatile trading, the Sensex fluctuated between 12766.30 and 12612.36 before closing at 12623.28 against Saturday's (muhurat session) close of 12736.82, a net loss of 113.54 points.
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange's S&P CNX Nifty fell by 26.20 points to 3657.30.
Retail investors squared up positions ahead of the expiry of October series on Thursday after two public holidays on October 24 and 25 on account of Diwali and Ramzan Id. PTI
