Thiruvananthapuram: Prayers, feasting and relief activities marked the Id-ul-Fitr celebrations on the conclusion of the holy month of Ramzan on Monday. Thousands of Muslims offered Id namaz at various places in the city and exchanged greetings.

In his address after the namaz at the Palayam Juma Masjid, Imam P.K. Hamza Moulavi Farooqi reminded the faithful of the Koran's message of universal harmony and brotherhood. He exhorted them to help the needy and the oppressed.

Hundreds of believers assembled for the traditional Id-gah address at other locations.

Large gatherings were present for the Id namaz at the mosques at Manacaud and Kesavadasapuram.

Charity organisations held functions at several places to distribute Ramzan kits to the needy. Grand feasts were arranged in Muslim homes as part of the Id-ul-Fitr celebrations.
