Pranab likely to be new Foreign Minister

NEW DELHI: A minor reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers is expected to take place on Tuesday.

Pranab Mukherjee is likely to be the new External Affairs Minister, a post vacant since the resignation of Natwar Singh, sources in the Government said here this evening.

Post for Antony

The replacement for Mr. Mukherjee as Defence Minister is still under discussion.

A.K. Antony, party general secretary, is tipped to be the new Labour Minister.

The Cabinet post has been vacant since the recent resignation of Telengana Rashtriya Samiti president K. Chandrasekhara Rao.

His party has also quit the ruling United Progressive Alliance.

Ambarish to be inducted

Karnataka MP Ambarish is likely to be inducted as a Minister of State, sources added.
