New IGNOU Vice-Chancellor

NEW DELHI: Distinguished scholar V.N Rajasekharan Pillai has taken over as Vice-Chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University here.

Prof. Pillai has been at the helm of affairs of many higher education institutions in the past 35 years.

He has served as Chairperson and Vice-Chairman of the University Grants Commission. He was also Director of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore.

A researcher in chemical sciences, Prof. Pillai has held post-doctoral and visiting research professorship in the universities of Tubingen, Mainz and Lausanne.
