Coimbatore: This workshop is for those who wish to help themselves. It is to enhance performance in one's profession, gain a better understanding of oneself, improve communication and interpersonal skills, and above all become a better human being. This workshop on `Transactional Analysis' will be held on November 11 and 12 at Ramanathapuram. Organised by Asha Counselling and Training Services, the workshop is aimed at attracting parents of school and college-going children, teachers, counsellors and social workers, said C. Suriyaprakash, Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst.
Professionals
However, professionals including doctors, managers and executives, and even those working for non-Governmental organisations could participate, he said. "Transactional Analysis can be used as a system for the improvement of human relations," he added. It would help a person assess repeated behavioural patterns and find out the options available for changing the undesirable aspects in one's behaviour," he said. TA provided a comprehensive model to understand oneself and through the process, assess another person, thus making interpersonal relationships free of conflict. The workshop would deal with the fundamentals of TA and its application in everyday life. Structural Analysis, Transactional Analysis Proper, Game Analysis and Script Analysis would be the other components of the workshop.
Assertive
Participants would also be taught to excel in emotional intelligence, stress management skills and also to be assertive, which was an important aspect of personal development. Another workshop on Script Analysis would be held on November 18 and 19, the organisers said. Each workshop cost Rs. 900 and those who wished to attend both workshops should pay Rs.1600. Participants would also be given course material to help them follow the proceedings easily and have a better grasp of the fundamentals. They need not have prior training in Transactional Analysis, Mr. Suriyaprakash said. For details contact: Asha Counselling and Training Services at 2310520 or Email: info@asha-net.com.
