Puducherry
Special Correspondent
Puducherry: The convener of the JIPMER Anti-Conversion People's Action Committee, T. Murugan, said here on Tuesday that the members would stage a demonstration in the next few days to seek reinstatement of the five of their staff, who were dismissed following the recent strike. Mr. Murugan said that the five staff (four staff nurses and one ECG technician) should have been reinstated in the wake of a court order on the basis of which the strike itself was called off. C H Balamohanan, president, Confederation of the Associations of Government Employees of Puducherry Administration said that the management of JIPMER itself could revoke the order of dismissal issued against the five staff and reinstate them. It was a surprise why the management was dragging its feet, he said. Mr. Murugan had headed a 14-member delegation of the Action committee to meet leaders of the CPI (M), the BJP, the RSP and others in Delhi last week. He said the delegation would again visit Delhi shortly to meet the Prime Minister.
