BCH empanelled for government employees

BELGAUM: The State Government has empanelled the city-based Belgaum Cancer Hospital (BCH) for treatment of its employees and their dependants.

According to official sources here on Tuesday, the BCH offers comprehensive cancer treatment with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy facilities. In addition, palliative care, pain relief and terminal care facilities have also been made available. The hospital is also equipped with a state-of-the-art 3-dimensional treatment planning system, which was installed in October last with the objective of ensuring accurate radiation therapy.

Another equipment called dual (h\High) energy LINAC is to be installed that is sophisticated, accurate and effective for radiation. The equipment, which would be installed in January next, is not available in any hospital between Bangalore and Pune. Therefore, it would be of help to patients suffering from cancer in the region.
