Indiramma-type villages for Vamsadhara oustees

Joint Collector reviews relief package


  • The difference will be that there is no pension
  • Issue of passbooks to ensure transparency

    Srikakulam: Joint Collector M. Veerabrahamaiah on Tuesday directed officials concerned with the execution of Relief and Rehabilitation (RR) package for the oustees of the Phase 11 of Stage of Vamsadhara (Boddepalli Rajagopalarao) porject to develop colonies meant to rehabilitate project-displaced families (PDFs) on the lines of Indiramma villages.

    The only difference would be that there would no provision for pension, he added.

    Model villages

    In the Indiramma programme, under which one third of villages in every district were being developed as model villages in the State, all basic needs and other facilities like drinking water, power, schools, health service, roads would be provided in the selected villages.

    Mr.Veerabrahmaiah, who is also Administrator for the RR package, said passbooks would also be issued to all PDFs and project-affected families (PAFs) to ensure transparency.

    These books would have four parts, family details, details of lands acquired and compensation and other benefits paid, particulars of benefits given under RR package and benefits from others like banks and other institutions. Presentation of these passbooks would also entitle them to special treatment for any other schemes, Mr.Veerabrahmaiah said while reviewing implementation of RR package and land acquisition at his chambers here.

    In the initial stage, displaced or affected families from the villages of Kollivalasa, Garlapadu, Parapuram and Gunabhdra would be rehabilitated.

    K. Sudheer, Superintending Engineer, Vamsdhara project, PMJ Babu, Revenue Divisional Officer, Palakonda, and other officers from revenue, irrigation, horticulture, land survey attended the meeting.
