NEW DELHI: The nation wants an answer from the Government on questions related to "penetration" of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan into the armed forces and its growing network in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party said on Tuesday. In a statement, the party pointed to the remarks of Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, expressing concern over the penetration of the ISI into the armed forces. The BJP said it wished he would be as candid in telling the country why the Government failed to identify and bust ISI modules. Mr. Mukherjee's remarks followed the arrest of two Army men for spying and passing on documents to a contact in the Pakistan High Commission. The BJP said while the country was proud of the armed forces, it was necessary to detect security failures and weed out elements, who are suspected to be compromised by the ISI. "We are confident that the morale of the armed forces will remain as high as before," the party said.
