BANGALORE: R. Harshitha and Preethi Ujjani battled their way to the semifinals of the girls' singles in the Kensri AITA U-12 tennis championship at the Kensri courts here on Tuesday. Harshitha defeated Deepika 2-6, 6-2, 4-3 while Preethi prevailed over S.P. Ritu 4-6, 6-4, 4-0. As per the new rule, the winner is the first player to win four games if the match spills over into the third set. The results: Girls: Singles (quarterfinals): Dhruthi bt Anina 6-3, 6-1; R. Harshitha bt Deepika 2-6, 6-2, 4-3; Shwetha bt Nikita Telkar 6-4, 6-4; Preethi Ujjani bt S.P. Ritu 4-6, 6-4, 4-0. Pre-quarterfinals: S. Anina bt Rajashree 6-3, 6-1; S.S. Deepika bt R.
