ALAPPUZHA: Intelligence agencies are learnt to have launched an investigation into helicopter sorties over the Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Station, Choolatheruvu, near Kayamkulam, on Friday. According to sources, an unidentified helicopter flew sorties over the station on Friday morning. The helicopter flew at a low altitude and stayed still over the station for a few minutes, said the sources. There are also reports that those in the helicopter tried to take pictures of the power station. The CISF personnel noticed the helicopter and informed the police. Meanwhile, the NTPC has brought the issue to the attention of the Alappuzha District Superintendent of Police. District Collector K.R. The Collector said a detailed inquiry was on to ascertain the reasons for the helicopter flying sorties over the station.
