Man drowned

Thiruvananthapuram: A 42-year-old man drowned in the Vellayani lake on Tuesday evening after the country boat in which he and a few others were travelling capsized. The others swam to safety, however, Haris, a resident of Maithri Nagar, Poojappura, could not be saved. Haris, who was working in Saudi Arabia, had come on leave and was due to return by the end of the month. — Staff Reporter
