Ahmedabad : The West Indies got a timely boost ahead of its ICC Champions Trophy match against India with captain Brian Lara taking part in a net session at Motera here on Tuesday. Lara batted for about 15 minutes during the day.

Lara, battling a lower-back strain, had not practised since his team's victory over Australia on October 18, in which he did not take the field. But the Caribbean team management exuded confidence that Lara would be fit to take on the host on Thursday.

``He is still receiving medical treatment. I don't know how he is feeling. But we think he will be fit for the match,'' West Indies media manager Imran Khan said. — PTI
