SHIMLA: The Manali-Sarchu-Leh Highway and the Tandi-Sansari nallah road in tribal areas of Lahaul and Spiti and Pangi will be closed to traffic from November 1 as more snowfall is expected on the Rohtang, Kunzam Baralacha and Saach Passes. The Rohtang Pass is the gateway to tribal Lahaul valley while the Saach Pass provides a vital link to the Pangi tribal valley in Chamba district. A spokesman of the Border Roads Organisation said it would not be in a position to carry out snow clearance operations for evacuation in case any vehicle was struck in snow. It cautioned all concerned not to take the risk of moving on these roads after November 1. - PTI
