Sangareddy: Medak Collector B.Venkatesam on Tuesday visited the Dalit girl from Bangla Mirzapur of Nyalkal mandal who was allegedly kept captive and raped by the upa-sarpanch of the same village, at the local Government hospital here. He sanctioned Rs 5,000 as relief from the Red Cross funds and promised another Rs 25,000 for the girl. He also said that a case under SC Atrocities Prevention Act would be booked against the accused person. Meanwhile, the Kulavivaksha Vyatireka Porata Sangham district committee members who played an important role in shifting the girl to the District Headquarter Hospital asked the Collector to initiate stern action against the culprit. KVVPS district general secretary K.Rajaiah said that the upa-sarpanch even tried to hush up the case.
