Call for action plan to ensure quality seeds

HYDERABAD: Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy on Tuesday asked the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and the department to work out an action plan to ensure production of better quality seeds. The plan is to be implemented in the ensuing rabi season.

According to an official release, Mr. Reddy told a review meeting here that the Government was committed to ensuring supply of quality seeds in next three years to farmers so that their productivity improved at least by ten per cent. It said the rural seed scheme would be strengthened, steps taken to ensure availability of funds and strengthen the State Seed Development Corporation.
