`Environment' month planned in State schools

HYDERABAD:
The National Green Corps is observing November as `Students Environmental Month' in all schools across the State.
Activities related to protection of natural resources by practising waste segregation, adopting bin culture and keeping school environments clean will have to be taken up during the month, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy said during a review of the NGC's activities here on Tuesday.
The environmental month will be observed in 6,970 school complexes, which cover 92,000 schools in the State. Five student teams will be constituted to conserve, monitor and manage issues related to water, waste, beautification, plantation and biodiversity conservation apart from taking up land and space management activities NGC director W.G. Prasanna Kumar said.
