Lead a life that does not cause harm to others: seer

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Balagangadharanatha Swamiji of Adi Chunchanagiri Math on Tuesday called upon people to live a life that does not harm any one.

Speaking at the 93rd birthday celebrations of Acharya Tulsi, the swamiji said leading a life filled with love and affection was necessary for the welfare of humanity. Seven simple principles preached by the acharya showed the way to lead such a life, he said. Some of them included talking in a way that does not harm the other and propagating good thoughts, he said.

The principles of acharya helped give up bad habits and rejuvenate the mind and the soul. The acharya has shown the scientific way of leading a life, the swamiji said. Sadhvi Satyaprabhaji said the simple principles of Acharya Tulsi would help people to develop human values, which were needed for every profession.

Former chairman of Karnataka Legislative Council B.L. Shankar said it would be difficult for politicians to avoid using muscle and money power in elections, which is one of the principles Acharya Tulsi, when their opponents indulge in such acts. The use of power could be avoided only if the parties concerned follow it, he said.

MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao spoke.

During the function, a calendar containing messages on stopping female foeticide, prevention of drug addiction, and national integration was released.
