Death anniversary to be observed

KOCHI: The 75th death anniversary of Fr. George Vakayil will be observed at St. Mary Magdalene Church Moothedam, Maradu.

The three-day commemoration programmes will start on November 2.

A torch rally will begin from the house of the relative of Fr. Vakayil at Fort Kochi at 8.30 a.m.

A cultural meeting will be held at 7.30 p.m. M.M. Monayi, MLA, will inaugurate the meeting. Mayor Mercy Williams will deliver the keynote address.

Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas will inaugurate the memorial meeting on November 4 at 11 a.m. Ignatius Gonsalves will deliver the memorial lecture.

Holy mass will also be held as part of the commemoration programme.
