Monsoon active over Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Northeast monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu.

Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu and at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimetres: Ramanathapuram 28, Namakkal 14 and Nannilam (Tiruvarur dt) 7.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
