New financial adviser for DVC

KOLKATA: A 1990 batch IPS officer has taken charge as financial adviser of the multi-utility Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) which was set up to control floods in the lower Bengal-Jharkhand belt, as one of independent India's first multipurpose river valley project. DVC also runs thermal and hydel power plants and is involved in soil conservation projects in its command area, according to a release.
