ISLAMABAD : With a Hindi and Urdu translation of In the Line of Fire already under his belt, President Pervez Musharraf is now looking at a Marathi version. In an interview to Pakistan Television, Gen. Musharraf said his book provided valuable lessons and was being translated into Marathi. "[The] Indian public really want peace with Pakistan, irrespective of what the Indian media says, and they also want to read my book in Hindi, and now I hear they are going to translate it in Marathi," he said. He did not think the book should have "a negative impact" on bilateral relations. "Facts are what I have written. Kargil happened, and I have given the Pakistani version, so far we had only the Indian version. People can read it. These were the facts as I see them. I have also exposed a lot about Agra, as to what really happened there. I stand by it. Each word about it is a fact, there is no doubt in my mind. In my view, if we look at it objectively, we should learn a lesson from this and not repeat such incidents," he said. He said the Indian media always had a "negative" attitude towards him. "But when they say something negative about me, I know I must have done the right thing," he said. "These are facts that I have written, and they keep criticising it," he said, adding it was the same in Pakistan, where people were nitpicking about spelling mistakes in the book. "If there are four or five spelling mistakes, so what? It's O.K., Simon and Schuster told me it's common, every book has spelling mistakes."
