Bangalore: She looks like the girl next door. But she is a classic example of how appearances can be deceptive. For, the soft spoken 23-year-old Shruti Chandrasekar has achieved what very few people ever manage to. She is an investment analyst at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank group in Washington. Earlier Shruti worked at Infosys, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Barclays Capital and Mercer Oliver Wyman before joining the IFC. She graduated in Electrical Engineering and Management Sciences at MIT. And for managing all this at such a young age, Shruti received the Young Achiever Award -2006 by the first citizen of Karnataka Governor T.N. Chaturvedi. Thanking all those who have supported her through her journey, Shruti said that she was very happy about the award as it gave exposure to her accomplishments. "This is also my first award that I received without applying or writing some test. That makes me really happy," she said, evoking laughter from the audience. Shruti also hoped that it would motivate more youngsters to achieve greater heights.
