Cuddalore rallies to win

Dindigul: Down by a 14th minute goal till 10 minutes from close, Cuddalore rallied splendidly to score two goals in a space of two minutes to defeat Thanjavur 2-1 in the inaugural match of the Tamil Nadu State junior inter-district football championship organised by Solar Sports Club at the Government Higher Secondary School ground, Nilakottai near here on Wednesday.

In another match, Trichy posted a 6-1 win over Theni. The other match scheduled for the day between Nilgiris and Virudhunagar did not come off as the latter did not turn up.

Big win for TVS

At Madurai, TVS Soccer club posted a 5-0 victory over Usilai Soccer Club, Usilampatti, in the Madurai District Football Association fist division league for Hi-Tech Arai Trophy here on Wednesday.

Lady Doak in final

Lady Doak College stormed into the final of the Madurai Kamaraj University inter-university women's football tournament thrashing Sri Meenakshi Government College 5-0 at the University ground on Wednesday.

Carrom tournament

The two-day 27th LIC South Zone Carrom tournament will get under way at Hotel Duke, Madurai on Thursday. Thirty-two players from 12 divisions along with last year South Zone's four top rankers (men and women) are participating in the tournament.
