Assembly sitting postponed to Nov. 10

LUCKNOW: The next sitting of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly would be held on November 10 instead of October 27 as scheduled earlier, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the Vidhan Sabha Principal Secretary R P Pandey, the decision to change the date was taken by the business advisory committee of the House at a meeting on Tuesday evening, prompted by the ongoing local bodies election campaign, sources said.

The managing director of Television Channel IBN 7, Rajdeep Sardesai could be produced before the House on November 10, sources added.

A House committee had held Mr. Sardesai guilty of breach of privilege and contempt of the House for failing to appear before it despite repeated summons .- PTI
