PM's assurance to Rajnath

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assured BJP president Rajnath Singh that he would ask the Agriculture Ministry to give "due consideration" to his suggestions on issues related to farmers and food security.

Replying to Mr. Rajnath Singh's suggestions made in a letter dated October 15 to him, Dr. Singh said he appreciated the comments on the National Commission on Farmers' report. "We need to have a debate on possible policy initiatives, and I am certain that the suggestions made by you will contribute to the debate on the subject."
