Northeast monsoon vigorous over T.N.

CHENNAI: Northeast monsoon has been vigorous over Tamil Nadu.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Tamil Nadu, at many places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Kerala and South interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Karwar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37 degree Celsius in the region.

Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 16 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, at many places over interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Rayalaseema and South interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over coastal Karnataka and north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the next 48 hours. Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and South coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

Forecast for Chennai city and neighbourhood (valid until Saturday morning ): Generally cloudy with few spells of shower or thundershower heavy at times.

Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (valid until Friday morning): Moderate to rather heavy rain is likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during next 48 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No large change.
