Anwesha And Surbhi have it easy

KOLKATA: Seeds had it easy as second seed Anwesha Reddy of Tamil Nadu and top seed Surbhi Misra of Rajasthan moved into the girls' under-19 and under-17 semifinals respectively in the junior National squash championship at the Calcutta Racket Club courts here on Thursday.

Also advancing to the semifinals were second seed Shivangi Paranjpe of Maharashtra (girls' U-17), Harita Om Prakash of Tamil Nadu (girls' U-15) along with Tamil Nadu's under-13 girls, top seed Anaka Alankamony and Aparajitha Balamurukan. While Anaka would take on Sachika Balwani of Maharashtra, Aparajitha would clash with second seed Saumya Karki, also of Maharashtra for a place in Saturday's final.

All semifinals would be played on Friday and the finals of the five age-group categories would be held on Saturday. — Special Correspondent
