Uttarakhand FC wins

NEW DELHI: Uttarakhand Football Club scored a convincing 2-0 win over Delhi Cantonment in a group II preliminary league match in the Delhi Soccer Association's annual `A' division open clubs football league championship at the Race Course ground here on Thursday.

R.S. Negi put Uttarakhand ahead in the 25th minute before Dinesh scored the second in the 55th minute.

At the Ambedkar Stadium, Goodwill Club rallied to hold Frontiers Club 1-1.

Frontiers went one up in the 48th minute through Mohan Singh and two minutes later Goodwill restored parity through Ranjan. — Principal Correspondent
