A large number of people joined his family members in bidding adieu to the senior police official whose funeral pyre was lit by his twin sons Shubhkarman Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. A contingent of ceremonial guards of PAP led by Sub Inspector Gurnam Singh reversed their arms and fired in the air to pay respect to the deceased. The funeral ceremony attended by several important leaders and officials like Punjab Minister for Technical Education Romesh Chander Dogra, State DGP S. S. Virk, Sanjiv Misra, Resident Commissioner and Vinaytosh Misra, SP CID, represented the Orissa Government.
