Getting into the act

Ever heard of a sting operation by a Government department?

Recently, the Transport Department donned the investigative role and exposed the fraud being committed by the owner of a mobile pollution check-up unit at Erragadda.

After receiving a series of complaints from motorists, officials decided to catch him red-handed. They approached the mobile unit owner by introducing themselves as employees of a private firm and asked him to issue a pollution check certificate.

When the owner issued the certificate, officials were surprised to learn that he was operating the unit without any permission from the Regional Transport Authority.

The owner was issuing forged certificates.
