Cash prize

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Government has decided to encourage students from other States who have taken Tamil as a subject and scored first three marks, with cash prize. An official release here said that following an announcement made by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi during the Budget Session of the Assembly on August 28, the Government would give Rs.10,000, Rs.5,000 and Rs.3000 as first, second and third prize for the students who held the first three ranks in Tamil in the Standard X and Standard XII examinations conducted in April last in six States.

The beneficiaries belonged to New Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
