GUNTUR : Visalandhra Book House will organise the 8th Guntur Book Festival from November 1 at A.L. B.Ed. College at Lodge Centre in the city with 40 major publishers participating in it from all over the country. Focus of the festival will be on children's books with a spread of 600 titles in children literature with the section to be named `Children's World'. In addition to major publishers about 200 authors making solo attempts in publishing would also participate in it, the book festival convener AMR Anand said on Thursday. Major portion of the Book Festival would be devoted to students' needs, books related to competitive examinations, 100 different kinds of dictionaries, management studies and collection of grammar books. One of the major attractions of the 19-day festival would be competitions for students in Quiz, Abhyudaya Geethalu and Telugu Matladandi. These are basically designed to promote Telugu language among students, who according to Mr. Anand were not keeping in touch with their mother tongue. Students would be invited to speak on `Naku Nachchina Pustakam' (a book I liked) to provide audience an insight into the aspects that the student had liked in the book. This can be on a book from any language.
