COLOMBO: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has prepared a plan to reach food and humanitarian assistance to more than two lakh affected persons in the current phase of hostilities. In a statement here on Friday, the WFP said a recently approved Special Operation -- valued at $2.6 million -- will serve as a platform for agencies to facilitate the flow of goods to conflict-affected people. It said these improvements to aid operations come as the Government and the LTTE prepare to resume talks that could result in opportunities for providing food and humanitarian aid.
