Mumbai: Dattu Phadkar XI defeated Khandu Rangnekar XI by seven wickets to pick up four points in the second round of the Sportstar Trophy MCA under-19 selection trial cricket tournament here on Friday. Meanwhile, Vijay Merchant XI's Rohan Bagwe denied Vijay Manjrekar XI a win. Needing eight in the last over to win, Manjrekar XI managed to score only five. The scores: At Elf Vengsarkar ground: Vijay Merchant XI 159 and 214 (Swapnil Salvi 27, Brijesh Pujari 45, Gaurav Chavan 29, Dhaval Parab three for 55, Oninder Gill three for 55) drew with Vijay Manjrekar XI 142 and 229 for seven (Pratik Amin 91, Rehmani Sufiyan 25, Dhaval Kulkarni 36, Jeff Pereira three for 46). Merchant XI two pts, Manjrekar XI 0. At Karnataka ground: Khandu Rangnekar XI 186 and 148 (Viral Patel five for 37, Balkrishna Shirke three for 26) lost to Dattu Phadkar XI 279 and 56 for three.
