Special Correspondent
Guwahati:
Three persons were killed and 15 others, including two CRPF personnel injured when powerful explosive device went off in Dhekiauli town of Sonitpur district on Friday. Sonitpur district superintendent of police Apurba Jibon Barua said that the blast occurred near Krishnai Hotel around 5:45 p.m. in the heart of the town. Three of the seriously wounded persons have been rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, he said.
Outfit not known
The police were yet to ascertain as to which militant outfit was behind the blast, the SP said.
They, however, suspected that explosive device was kept on a cycle. The police arrested five militants of the National Democratic Front of Boroland on charges of extortion from Missamari area of the district on Wednesday.
