NEW DELHI: A six-goal spree by Tunku Ismail Ibrahim powered Cavalry Red to a 10-7 triumph over Jindal Steel and Power in the semifinals of the Samaira Cup polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Friday. Santiago De Estrada and Vishal Chauhan scored two goals each for the winner. Simran Shergil (four), Abhimanyu Pathak (two) and Phillip Elliot scored for the loser. In the other semifinal, a six-goal effort by Martin Ravina proved inadequate as Majaara edged past Cavalry Green 7 1/2-7. Gerardo Mazzini (five), Satinder Garcha and Rakshit Agnihotri clinched the issue for Majaara that started with a half-goal handicap advantage. Tarun Sirohi scored the other goal for the loser.
Salwan posts win
Naman Gupta, Ritesh Kumar and Ankur Arora snared three wickets each to set Salwan Public School up for an eight-wicket win against Gyan Bharti School, Saket, in the Parle Cup inter-school under-17 cricket tournament here on Friday. The scores: Gyan Bharti School, Saket 67 in 25.3 overs (Shashank Chopra 30, Naman Gupta three for eight, Ritesh Kumar three for 18, Ankur Arora three for 23) lost to Salwan Public School 71 for two in 16 overs (Bharat Monga 31, Arsh Arora 30 not out).
