Sujat, Aditya in limelight

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: Laxman Joshi of Maharashtra and Ramit Tandon of Tamil Nadu were the major casualties on the penultimate day of the junior National squash championship here on Friday.

Joshi, seeded second in the boys' under-17 age group, was ousted by Sujat Barua of Tamil Nadu in the semifinals, while under-15 favourite Ramit Tandon was eliminated by Aditya Jagtap of Maharashtra.

The girls' section had no such tremors as top two seeds in each of the five age groups sailed into the finals.

The most fluent of victories was achieved by under-19 favourite and senior India No. 2 Dipika Pallikal in her 9-1, 9-0, 9-0 demolition of Vidushyi Sahni.
